Visian ICL Cost and ICL Surgery Cost

November 19th, 2008

We received many request from readers about finding out the latest Visian ICL Cost from the market. We did some research and found out that currently Visian ICL costs about $1500-$3500 per eye which includes the cost of ICL surgery. That means for both eyes, you could end up paying around $300-$7000.

Why such varitation in Pricing?
Simple because, the surgery cost could vary based on how complex is the ICL surgery performed on your eyes. For ICL surgery for Nearsightedness or Myopia can vary in cost. You might end up paying higher if you are fixing Keratoconus with Intacs Lasik or ICL

RLE Refractive lens exchange with ICL Lens

November 5th, 2008

RLE (refractive lens exchange) surgery is essentially cataract surgery, but exclusively for refractive purposes. RLE is often called as Clear Lens Exchange (CLE), Clear Lens Extraction (CLE), and Refractive Lens Replacement (RLR).

RLE surgery can be done with multiple types of implantable lenses . Every ophthalmologist would advise you to do research before any vision correction procedure.

There are several advantages to RLE over other forms of refractive surgery. Some of the most obvious are that the surgery has years of successful history and the cornea is relatively untouched. If you have a thin cornea, dry eyes, or other minor cornea problems, RLE may be a better alternative. RLE may be the only option for people with high refractive error.

IOL is an intraocular lens, commonly known as Phakic Intraocular Lens, meaning inside the eye. RLE is the surgical procedure in which your natural eye lens is replaced with a permanent implant, or IOL, and restores your vision. Generally, RLE surgery is for people who are at least 50 and are very near- or farsighted, not qualifying for LASIK surgery.
